Twenty Two Chula Vista Rotarians along with spouses and several Evening Club folks (as many as 45 all together) turned out on a Saturday morning to provide and prepare the food for the clients using the Ronald McDonald House that day and eating lunch. The clients are the families of the children in care across the street at Rady's Childrens Hospital.
Under the leadership of Gary Bryant; Alma, Gus, Jan and others brought the food. Gary and his crew barbecued fifty pounds of chicken and beef, and all the others pitched in to prep the serving area, clean the tables, set up the stations, serve, and clean up afterwards. Over 120 clients were served.
Even President Brad and his lovely daughter Allison pitched in. Allison took a video, which we hope we will see on You Tube.
Past President Lisa arranged for a DeeJay and a Balloonist courtesy of the YMCA to entertain the clients.
The day began before 11am and finished around 2pm. This is the first time we have done this. Gary will see if we can do our Christmas program here this year. That would be great!
